Because we demand the best care for our patients, The Wound Care and Ostomy Center provides specialized outpatient treatment for non-healing wounds as well as outpatient assessment and education regarding fecal and urinary diversions.
The Wound Care and Ostomy Center provides a valuable resource for the community in meeting outpatient wound and ostomy needs. The physician-supervised staff consists of nurses certified in wound and ostomy care. The Wound Care and Ostomy Center focuses on patient/family-centered decision-making, while respecting the dignity and rights of the individual and family.
Wondering if the Wound Care and Ostomy Center can meet your healthcare needs? This program is right for you if you meet any of the following criteria.
Wounds:
- You have a wound that is not healed within 4 weeks
- You have a wound that heals but frequently returns
- You have diabetic foot wounds
- You have Venous Stasis Ulcers
- You have Ischemic Ulcers
- You have Pressure Ulcers
- You have a 1st or 2nd degree burn which can be managed on an outpatient basis
Ostomy: You have a urinary or fecal diversion and
- desire addition knowledge regarding self-care skills
- desire information to assist you in adjusting to life with a stoma
- desire recommendations regarding pouching difficulties
- desire recommendations regarding irrigation
- desire recommendations on product use
The Wound Care and Ostomy Center is located on the first floor of The Center for Women. The Center entrance is on the west side of the building and has easily accessible handicapped parking.
